Why? You will level much faster and more efficiently using the Sub-Tier 2 armor that just opened up. You may be tempted to keep leveling a Sub-Tier 1 level item once you hit level 25 because they will still yield experience. Tip #3: You should make items appropriate to your sub-tier when possible (Thank you wildclaw and Lasmrah for bringing this up) After this, you will have enough recipes to level with discovery. You will most likely have to make duplicates from 25-50. Also note that jeweler has less recipes than the other professions. The only reason I would grind is if you are making something that you will use (bags, gear, multiple runes, etc) or if you find an especially easy recipe (cooking and artificer have a lot of these low hanging fruit). The reason why is that discovery yields 100% more bonus experience than grinding on a known recipe. Tip #2: Discovery is almost always better than grinding. Read section D for an example of how to do this in practice. I always start by doing batch refinement of everything I have collected so far and then make enough components for my discovery process. You will want to front-load them as much as possible because doing so will extract the maximum experience before they go gray. Refinements and components only give experience for twenty five levels. Tip #1: Make your refinements and components as soon as they become available. These tips from Jerich’s guide are very good: Rinse and repeat as you unlock new tiers of material/component. Then build components with your refined materials. Refine stuff until you don’t get XP any more. Not really sure what you want beyond Jerich’s guide. As I need to be 75 to unlock them, well annoying. I’ve seen Jerich’s overview, but I need a real step-by-step guide.Īgree, I really have no clue what I am doing really, apparently if I want to turn silver ore or iron ore in to. You can’t steal mining nodes or trees from anyone since they all have separate spawns for each person.īelow you will find a list of the gatherables in Tyria with links to maps that show the spawn locations.Any good crafting leveling guides out there? I feel like I’m just doing random stuff and probably not using my materials efficiently. Be advised that you can fail at gathering if your tools are low level. Beside getting materials, you will also get a small amount of exp for every collected item.

You can gather whatever you like if you have appropriate tools. GW2 gathering skills are not specific to your profession.

Unlike many others MMORPGs, you will be able to collect gatherables in Guild Wars 2 as soon as you start your journey.
